Enjoy YOUR Journey

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.  So if God has given you the ability to prophesy speak out with as much faith as God has given you.  If your gift is serving others, serve them well.  If you are a teacher, teach well.  If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.  If it is giving, give generously.  If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously.  And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”  Romans 12: 6-8 NLT

I love watching, “Better Together” on TBN.  It is a TV show with well-known Christian women having real conversations on different topics from a biblical perspective.  Recently they were discussing the freedom of just being you.  The older I get, the more I understand the freedom I have, and I am learning to walk confidently in that freedom.  There’s a joy and a peace that comes with it that I cannot explain.

Life is a journey; everyone’s journey is not the same, and that is ok.  I believe enjoying our journey begins when we are true to who we are and who God has created us to be.  God wants us to enjoy our journey, not imitate someone else’s.  We also should not attempt to fulfill the vision or idea of what someone else believes our journey should be or look like.

God created each of us with a distinct purpose in mind.  We must acknowledge we need Him, humble ourselves before Him, and allow Him to help us on our journey.  God is the One who created us in His image.  He has all the answers.  He is the One who predestined us and will never leave us nor forsake us.  He is the One that forgives us and restores us back unto Himself when others will not forgive.  We must acknowledge Him because when we begin to walk in the freedom that comes with being true to ourselves and who God has created us to be in Him, everyone will not like it.

Even though we may lose some people along the way, once we begin walking in our freedom, I believe we will gain more peace, more joy, and an even closer relationship with our Heavenly Father.  I also believe He will send the people that we need, to accompany us on our journey.  People who will accept us for who we are, encourage and support us, and push us when needed in the direction the LORD would have us to go.  He will send people who will not try to put us in a box or attempt to mold us into who they think we should be and those who will hold us to a standard that ensures we stay true to our morals and values.  They will not attempt to make us think more highly of ourselves than we ought to or try to make us feel less than who we are.  These people will enjoy our journey with us even when it is different than theirs.

So, stay in your lane and enjoy your journey.
