In The Meantime….

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.” Psalm 62:1 KJV

Most of us have something we are waiting for – Promises of God we are waiting to be fulfilled, prayers we are waiting to be answered, healing, deliverance, a new home, a new car, a new job, a spouse, etc. Some of us have been waiting longer than others, nevertheless, we are waiting.  Psalm 37:7 tells us to, “Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him…”

But what are we doing while waiting?  Are we murmuring and complaining? Are we getting “…weary in well doing…” Galatians 6:9?  Or are we praying and staying in the Word so that the LORD can, “…teach us and instruct us in the way that we should go…” Psalm 32:8?  Whether that something is doing something for someone else, simply doing some things differently, rearranging some things, getting rid of some things….whatever it is He would have us to do.

God is teaching me to say, “In the meantime” as I wait.  “OK LORD, but in the meantime…” What can I do to make this time of waiting more bearable?  In the meantime, has helped to keep me focused, be encouraged, stay joyful and pleasant.  In the meantime, helps me to appreciate where I am and what I already have.  In the meantime, helps me not miss blessings He gives while I’m waiting–no matter how small.

Does that mean I never get anxious or a little impatient?  No, but a lot less, and even when I do, In the meantime, helps me to quickly refocus.

Begin now,as You wait on the LORD, to say “OK LORD, but in the meantime.”  And allow Him to make your time of waiting more bearable.
